Symbiosis Pharmaceutical Services specialises in the fill-finish manufacture of sterile drug products for global blue-chip pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies.

As part of their sustainability commitments, they are required to comply with client-mandated Ecovadis sustainability ratings and the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi). Following assistance in establishment of their baseline emissions statement and Carbon Reduction Plan, Symbiosis engaged Carbon Zero to support their progress across Ecovadis, and SBTi reporting platforms.

Objectives

Independently verify the accuracy of in-house emissions calculations.
Advise and guide on Ecovadis reporting platform actions and sustainability statements.
Support completion of SBTi reporting platform actions and submission.

Results

Emissions Verified – Carbon Zero confirmed that Symbiosis’ carbon emissions calculations were accurate and fully representative.
Ecovadis – Scored 56 points, attaining Committed level recognition.
SBTi – Symbiosis Pharmaceutical Services Limited commits to reduce absolute scope 1 and 2 GHG emissions by 2030 from a 2022 base year, and to measure and reduce its scope 3 emissions.
